The Northern Velebit National Park is recognizable by its preserved biodiversity, richness of the natural phenomena and experience of pristine wilderness. It represents the northern section of the Velebit mountains, the largest mountain range in Croatia. From the numerous peaks, there are magnificent views of the Adriatic Sea and its islands (Pag, Rab, Goli otok, etc.) The highest meteorological station in Croatia (the Zavižan peak, 1676 meters) is also situated within this park.
