Locations that qualify and are awarded the WWP status are often located near villages, cities or areas polluted by human activity and are, in many cases, under their jurisdiction. WWP recognition of these locations will contribute to national and global promotion of these populated places - cities, towns or villages - and will boost their economic growth through their promotion as top tourist destinations. Their commercial value for the local economy will be substantial, as they connect all segments of the tourism industry - hotel accommodation for visitors, tour operators’ promotion of WWP, and all transport segments needed to reach the location, such as airline companies, ships and road transport - car, bus, train, etc. Once the local area is named as WWP, local industrials and inhabitants of these areas will be more committed to its protection and future preservation, in order to achieve sustainability of those locations.
